Training Band End of Term Concert

The end of another busy and successful year for the youth groups at the bandroom with an end of term concert at Llanfair Primary School on Tuesday 7th July. A great performance from all three groups to a packed out hall full of proud parents and some super playing showing just how much they have all come on since Christmas. The highlight of the night included some really subtle playing from the Youth Band, the beginners strutted their scales to great applause and the Juniors showed that they are keen to get their teeth stuck into some much more challenging music. Much consternation from parents when Alan suggested a "bun fight" after the concert with delighted looks from the youngsters who evisaged a great food fight afterwards! Although the look on many faces when they saw three tables full of cakes, biscuits, doughnuts, jaffa cakes, coconuts maroons, flapjacks and lollies galore - most thought that this was the best day of their lives ever!
Congratulations to the band's Player of the Year - James Clarke who plays Clarinet and has been playing in the band for the last three years. Also, it is great to our young talent blosom and we are absolutely delighted to welcome Jack Chapman and Rhiannon Miskin both on Tenor Horn to the Senior Band. Although Jack intends taking a gap year before university he should get in a few gigs through the Summer before he heads off travelling, Rhiannon on the other hand will be joining us full time.
